It’s big, it’s blue, and it’s full of good news!
My Invitation is finally here!!!!!
I’m going to Mozambique! (more info here: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/mz.html and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozambique)
I’m going to be a biology teacher! Good thing I watch Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. The bad part for the students is that I have to teach in Portuguese, ahhhhhhh!!!
I am supposed to leave on September 29th-ish, not sure of exact date I leave Columbus yet. I should be in Maputo, Mozambique by October 2nd. Then the fun really starts!
Here is all the wonderful paperwork I have received to fill out from my first packet:
Now I have to do a bunch of reading, filling out forms, send emails, make phone calls, and that’s just to accept my Invitation! Then I have to fill out a bunch more forms and get more paperwork to fill out.
Oh I have yet to mention that I still have to figure out what I need to take with me. Where I’m going to buy everything I need. How I’m going to get all my crap I have now packed away for a few years. Then there’s the whole banking and legal stuff to worry about too.
Needless to say I’m extremely excited but also overwhelmed. I need to start making up a bagillion lists and start getting things done. With only seven weeks until I’m gone there isn’t much time. I have a feeling I won’t be sleeping much before I leave.
Please excuse the scatter-braininess, it is unusually high now. And the excessive use of !!!, those are also unusually high right now as well.
More to come as things develop.
